Born in 1967, Laurent Bouro lives and works in Tours. His journey is that of a self-taught man. He has devoted himself entirely to painting for ten years. He exhibits regularly in galleries and salons in France. Today, he has collectors all over the world: Paris, Rome, New York, London, Brussels, Auckland ... His favorite themes are faces and bodies: two axes in which he deploys all of his portrait art.

Laurent Bouro paints faces in an attempt to portray the human soul in its timeless dimension. Inspired by ethnic masks, he revisits the facies according to his mixed technique. Acrylic enhanced with oil, gluing, scraping, scraping, lifting ... the effects of materials are superimposed on the grain of the canvas, on the irregularities of the wooden support.

He sculpts more than he draws the features of his characters. Always men. The expressions pass by a look without eyes, to better let speak the interiority. Between cave painting and tribal painting, between dripping and tattooed prints, Laurent Bouro's masks embody a virile masculinity imbued with dignity, despite the scars of life.
